The Day of the Young Artist is an annual, international symposium in which young artists from all over Europe gather at De Pont museum, Tilburg. The symposium offers an engaging program focussing on the dialogue between the new generation of artists, European art schools and the professional field. Together with the audience, we will look at the artists’ identity, his position and role in 'the scene' and 'society'. Who exactly is the young artist? What are his dreams and ambitions? How does the young, European artist keeps himself standing at a time where grants continuously disappear?
Next to tips and tricks from present-day experts of the present day we will also take a look at the past: how does the contemporary art world relate to the art scene in earlier times? What might we say about the future? By means of stimulating lectures, inspiring discussions and exciting workshops we aspire to get to the bottom of the future of the artistic practice.
Kunstpodium T and De Pont museum present an inspiring program for everybody that is interested in developments in contemporary art.
